Table-topping Spalding RFC will go into Saturday’s home clash with Kesteven full of confidence.
That’s the view of skipper Harry Sharman, who led his side in their best performance of the season so far at Dronfield last weekend.
Town emerged with a 32-20 success in Derbyshire, which sent them to the top of Midlands Two East (North) for the first time this term.
And Sharman is hoping to see more of the same from title-favourites Spalding at the Memorial Field on Saturday (3pm).
“It was something new for us to go to Dronfield,” said the virtuoso captain. “But the lads really clicked, especially in the first half.
“It was easily our best showing of the season – and the key is to keep our first choice team fit now.
“We need to take that form into the Kesteven game now. We’ve not been in the same division as them for a while, but they’ve done well to get up to this standard and we have to respect them.
“It’ll be a new challenge for us, but one we’ll be favourites for.”
Vice skipper Ryan Chappell remains sidelined, but full back JD Charlton is expected to return.
