RUGBY: Spalding RFC suffer hammer-blow to survival hopes

Have your say

Spalding RFC’s Midlands One East status is under major threat after a devastating 36-34 loss at relegation rivals Market Bosworth on Saturday.

The defeat, in a game dubbed “must win” by skipper Harry Sharman, leaves Town four points from safety with just two games left to play. Next Saturday’s tussle with rock-bottom Loughborough RFC now takes on huge significance.

In Midlands Three East (South), Deepings suffered a 29-34 loss against Stockwoord Park. Bourne were without a game in Midlands Four East.
