RUGBY: Bonus-point win just the ticket for Town

Have your say

A big 49-19 win over Loughborough propelled Spalding RFC back out of the Midlands One East drop zone on Saturday with just one game left to play.

With relegation rivals Market Bosworth beaten 35-18 at Peterborough RFC, Town’s bonus-point success sends them one point ahead of the former in the race for survival.

Next week’s final round of fixtures sees Spalding visit title-chasing Ilkeston, while Bosworth host Towcestrians.

In Midlands Three East (South) Deepings went down 31-11 at Northampton Casuals, while in Midlands Four East (South) Bourne were drubbed 64-6 at home by St Ives.
