Bourne Reserves are up for the Cup

Bourne Town Reserves are among eight clubs who have indicated their intention to take part in an end of season cup competition.

The Wakes’ second string has seen their league campaign in the United Counties Reserves Division curtailed for the season with immediate effect.

Clubs were asked to vote for their preferred outcome of the season with 17 electing to curtail it with only two wanting a points-per-game method of determining league placings.

The Wakes will now line up alongside Bugbrooke St Michaels, Harborough Town, Lutterworth Athletic, Milton Keynes Irish, Northampton ON Chenecks, Rothwell Corinthians and Yaxley in a supplementary competition organised by the league.

Fixture arrangements will follow once all the replies have been received from Premier and Division One clubs about a similar competition.

Initial responses have indicated that sufficient clubs from those divisions also wish to participate in cup competitions.
