Pinchbeck United Reserves to play in a memorial match for goalkeeper Ashley Moore
Pinchbeck United Reserves have arranged a memorial match for goalkeeper Ashley Moore as part of their pre-season preparations.
The Knights’ second string will travel to Sleaford Rangers in a match to remember their popular goalkeeper who passed away in November.
The game is taking place on Wednesday, August 11, at the Sleaford Town’s Elsaforde Park ground with proceeds from the £2 entry going towards Ashley’s family and their chosen charity.
Pinchbeck reserve boss Tim Coomes said: “Ashley will always be remembered as ‘heaven gaining a Knight’.
“He is sorely missed by his team-mates and we will be honoured to play this game in memory of him.”
The reserves will begin their pre-season friendlies on Saturday, June 26, when they host Huntingdon at Knight Street.
They then host Eagle United on Saturday, July 10, before making the trip to face Swaffham the following weekend.
A home match with Long Sutton has been arranged for Saturday, July 24, with Swineshead making the trip to Knight Street the folllowing weekend with Pinchbeck then visiting Deeping United on Saturday, August 7.
The Knights are also staging an open event next week as part of their football academy and education scholarship scheme.
The trials take place on Wednesday, June 16, from 6.30-8.30pm at Knight Street for the scheme which is run inconjunction with One Touch Football.
The team will be representing Pinchbeck in the coming campaign in the FA Youth Cup having entered the competition for the first time.

Pinchbeck will be without the services of utility player Pat Kacirek for the coming United Counties League Premier Division North season.
Kacirek has decided to join league rivals Boston Town having spent the last two seasons with Pinchbeck.
