Tulips Red recorded a phenomenal 48-9 win in their match against Belles Sapphire in the Boston Netball League.

The first quarter saw a healthy 13-3 lead as the Spalding Netball Club team worked seamlessly together to get the ball into the circle at quick pace.

Jo-Ann and Somara were explosive off the line to receive the centre passes, leaving Belles no chance to intercept.

The second quarter saw some extreme defence from Emily and Chloe Healey leaving Belles to only gain one goal, while Rosie and Jo-Anne seemed to be sinking the ball straight in the net time after time to leave the score at a whopping 26-4.

The third quarter saw a change of goal defence from Emily to Lindsay, and again the Tulips managed to defend their lead by working together.

They produced some great marking and pressure to get the ball back down the other end to secure the lead, and ended this quarter at 42-8.

The last quarter saw Tulips hold it together, with Chloe Hannam passing precisely from centre and quickly getting the ball into the D.

Chloe was always supporting on the edge of the D to allow more passes to the scorers Jo-Ann and Rosie, who were sinking them in one after another with some impressive long shots.

The umpires’ player award went to Chloe Healey, while the players’ player accolade went to Jo-Anne.

Team manager Hayley Stevens said: “We have had two absolutely fantastic wins with Tulips Purple firmly holding their place within Division One and Tulips Red swiftly climbing up the Division Two league table which is a great achievement for a newly put together squad.

“Both teams are training hard and it’s really starting to show on the court.”
