Pulling set to make international debut at San Marino F1 GP home

Gosberton motorsports prodigy Abbi Pulling (17) is set to make her international driving debut at one of the world's most famous circuits this weekend

Pulling, who currently lies sixth in the F4 British Championship – powered by Ford EcoBoost, has been offered a drive in the Formula Renault Eurocup at Imola circuit in Italy.

The two-time Junior TKM Super One British Karting champion will be the only woman driver at the two-day F1 Imola Grand Prix meeting on Saturday and Sunday, October 31 and November 1.

After F4 podium finishes at Brands Hatch, Thruxton and Croft with her JHR Developments team, Pulling has the chance of a lifetime to showcase her talent in the Eurocup, the only support race to the Grand Prix itself.

It will be Pulling's first ever outing in a F3 specification car when she lines up in Saturday morning's free practice sessions.

She said: "I am obviously looking forward to his and I intend to grab it with both hands.

"A huge thank you to those who have given me this opportunity as it will be the first time I will be driving this car and this circuit

"But I am looking forward to the challenge."

Alice Powell, third in last season's inaugural W Series Championship and Pulling's driver coach, said: "It has been an extremely busy past four weeks for Abbi who has been training hard with Sarah Harrington (performance coach and physio for Red Bull Racing) and working closely with Gazing Performance Systems.

"Opportunities like this don't come round very often, however, it is for sure going to be a huge but exciting challenge for Abbi.
