PHOTO GALLERY: Lawson Capes leads the way again




The second of three events in Lincs Throws Academy’s series was a big success at Holbeach Youth Centre on Sunday.

In the junior section for under-11s, Lawson Capes again smashed his personal best with 8.99m which puts him as the top under-11 thrower in the country.

Will Lamprell improved on his best with an impressive 14.35m in the under-15 category.

Elizabeth Moorehouse impressed with a throw of 11.55m in the girls under-17s.

The senior class was full of talent.

Hayley Steward took the senior women gold with 10.74m and Martin Tinkler (14.79m) battled Latvian international Arturas Gurklys (16.80m) for the senior gold.

Both are coached by Geoff Capes who said: “Arturas’s throw was the third best throw indoors this season.

“Thanks to all the athletes, helpers, our sponsors State 11 and the Spalding Guardian for a great day.”
