PHOTO GALLERY: Hundreds enjoy Tulip Trophy six-a-side tournament

The second Tulip Trophy elite youth six-a-side tournament attracted around 2,000 people to the Sir Halley Stewart Field.

Teams from under-7 to 12 competed over the bank holiday weekend.

Organiser Lewis Thorogood said: "It went really well and the level of football was very good.

"We had a good turnout each day, although Sunday was busier after Saturday's weather.

"It was a great atmosphere and we couldn't have asked for any better.

"There was a lot of positive feedback on social media and from local people who told us it was nice to see the Sir Halley Stewart Field busy again.

"We are already planning for the bank holiday weekend at the start of May next year as it seems to be the perfect time to hold the tournament."

Finnish club FDS Soccer - the first international team in the tournament - were under-12 winners.

Sunday's other winners were Peterborough United (under-8) and Norwich City (under-10).

Saturday's age group champions were Norwich City (under-9 and 11) and Saffron Dynamo (under-7).
