PHOTO GALLERY: Great effort at Lincs Throws Academy event

The indoor season started with Lincs Throws Academy’s shot competition at Holbeach Youth Centre on Sunday.

Juniors and seniors recorded a series of personal bests.

Coach Lewis Capes said: “It was a good turnout for January when the indoor season is only just starting.

“Most of the athletes are picking up their muscle strength through winter training and the technical work won’t be done yet.

“Our next competition on February 17 is a week before the national indoors in Birmingham so the athletes will focus on getting ready for that.

“We’ve also got another competition on March 17 before the senior indoor championships.”

His son Donovan did not compete due to injury but Ipswich’s William Lamprell got a personal best to show why he will be the main rival to be number one this year in the under-15 age group.
