Bobby Patterson and Tim Cole are named as the new joint manager of Peterborough League Premier Division side Moulton Harrox
Assistant boss Bobby Patterson wants his Moulton Harrox side to finish their campaign on a high and win the Peterborough Senior Cup for first team manager Kev Nottingham.
Nottingham is stepping down from the helm of the Premier Division side at the end of the current season to retake charge of the club's reserve team following the resignation of Danny Kingman.
Patterson is taking over the first team reins as part of a new joint management team alongside former Holbeach United assistant boss Tim Cole.
And he wants his side to end Nottingham's reign with the first team by bringing some silverware back to Broad Lane with Harrox currently going well in the end of season Senior Cup competition.
Patterson said: "From our point of view, we need a reserve team to help us function as a club and it was entirely Kev's choice to take it back on after Danny decided to step down.
"He had really good success with the reserves, winning the Division One title and Junior Cup two years on the trot, and had earned the right to manage the first team.
"He then won the league with the first team and everything that he has done for the club is unbelievable.
"He could have stayed with the first team but he is looking at the bigger picture for the club which epitomises what kind of bloke he is.
"This has been my first taste of management and Kev has been fantastic since day one.
"He's brought me in and allowed me to lead but has also given me plenty of advice which is what I needed.
"He's been really good at what he has done and he deserves all the credit that we can throw at him.
"We now want to go out on a high in the Senior Cup.
"We told the players what was happening at the game on Saturday and, after everything that Kev has done for this club and what he is now prepared to do for us, we want to make sure we win it for him.
"It would be the right way to do it and the lads know that."
Patterson and Nottingham will continue to lead the first team - alongside the experienced Paul Crowson - until the end of the cup campaign with Harrox needing a victory in their penultimate group game on Saturday to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
Cole will then join Patterson for the new season after ending a long association with the Tigers where he worked alongside Seb Hayes, Danny Hussey and the current Holbeach management team of Phil Barnes, Dean Elston and Martyn Bunce.
Patterson added: "With Kev taking on the reserve role again, it leaves me to carry on with the first team which is something that I can't do on my own.
"I have known Tim a long time and we get on really well. He's been a number two at Holbeach and now he wants to step up and take on this joint management role.
"We will be working together as a pair and hopefully we can carry on the sort of success that Kev has had.
"Knowing Tim personally is a big help and the key is that I know the Moulton ethos as well."
