Flying start as Tulips miss out
Tulips Yellow were narrowly beaten by Flinders Flyers at the start of the second round in the winter season.
In the first quarter, Spalding found it difficult to find their rhythm and finished four goals behind.
The second quarter saw Tulips dig deep - closing the gap with some great interceptions in the defending circle.
After half-time, the Yellows struggled to keep the ball down the attacking end with a few mistakes in the centre third.
Flinders took full advantage of this, putting pressure on Yellows and keeping possession of the ball.
Yellows reset for the beginning of the final quarter by making some substitutions.
With great passes and movement from the whole team, they were able to close in on Flinders’ nine-goal lead - ending the game with a final score of 19-15.
Special mention to Tilly Garfoot for the players' player-of-the-match award and Miah Farrell for getting umpires' award.
