Moulton Harrox retain top spot

Moulton Harrox stay top of East 1 after their home game against fourth place Long Sutton was abandoned on Saturday.

Harrox, who went into this match with three consecutive wins, won the toss and elected to field.

Sutton were 140-5 from 30 overs when the match was abandoned.

In the same division, Spalding’s game at Skegness was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Spalding 2nd’s game at home to Newborough in West 1 was also a victim of the weather.

Baston’s home game with Skegness in East 2 was also off, as was the Blillingborough 2nd v Orton Park 2nd clash in West 2.

There was, however, some action in Billingborough 1st’s game at Woodhall Spa 2nd in Inter 1.

After being asked to bat, Billingborough posted 184-9 from 39.1 overs when the heavens opened.

Leading the way was Richard Wells with 96. Jed Humphries scored 35, Tom Wesley 17 not out and Chris King 16.

In the only match that was completed, Spalding 3rd were beaten by 107 runs at Newborough 2nd.

After electing to bat,Newborough scored 201-4 from their 30 overs in a rain-reduced game, Stanley Watson taking 2-30, and a wicket each for H Lawson and William Gardner.

In return, Spalding scored 94-5 in their 30 overs, William Gardner scoring 49 not out, and Nigel Gardner retired on 32.
