MOTORSPORT: More points for Wilson
Holbeach driver Teddy Wilson earned more points last weekend in the F4 US Championship held at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the States.
The Holbeach ace came away with fifth, ninth and eighth places respectively in his three races.
However, the 17-year-old was disappointed not to be challenging for podium positions after his win in the opening round of the championship.
He said: “It was a tough weekend throughout – we found ourselves on the back foot and tried to make changes to the car to find the extra performance we needed, which is always a gamble.
“Unfortunately, this didn’t make the difference and it was damage limitation throughout the weekend.”
Torrential rain made two days of testing prior extremely challenging. Despite this, hot and dry conditions featured throughout the weekend.
Teddy gave a positive insight, saying: “I want to say a massive thank you to the team for their resilience and dedication throughout the weekend.
“I gave it my all but we knew this wasn’t going to be one of our strongest rounds, so now it is time to focus on the remaining races to try and make up the deficit.”
Teddy is fifth in 2019 F4 US Championship standings after Round 2. The third round takes place at Virginia International Race Complex from July 26-28
