‘Wrong place at the wrong time’ for Bailey
Spalding teenager Bailey Harker felt ‘gutted’ to finish second in the Thundersport 500 GB Freshman championship.
He led the way until the final race of the season at Oulton Park.
Harker said: “I qualified seventh in the rain and finished the first race in seventh place in wet conditions.
“I did everything right all year but in the second race found myself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“I ended the season tangled up with another rider and gifted the championship to someone else.
“To finish second in the championship is fair from what we expected at the start of the year.
“But leading the championship from round four until the last race of the season is a real heartbreak.”
Next year, Harker will be racing in the Pre National 600 class.
