Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams launched his bid for a fourth world darts title in confident fashion.

The 58-year-old from Deeping beat Dutchman Jan Dekker 3-1 in the first round of the BDO Championship – a competition he won for the third time in 2011.

Adams took the first set 3-2 after twice starting with 180s, four times hitting 140 and twice completing 12-dart legs.

Dekker, who beat Adams at the quarter-final stage last year, won the second set 3-1.

Adams hit back with some brilliant darts in the third set, winning it 3-2.

The fourth set was one-sided as Adams cruised to a straight legs success to complete a promising start.
