Martin Adams was beaten in a last-set decider in Sunday night’s BDO World Darts Championship final.

The 58-year-old from Deeping St James lost 7-6 to Scott Mitchell who claimed his first title and the £100,000 prize.

Three-time champion ‘Wolfie’ - who collected £35,000 as runner-up - said: “I could have played better in some of the early bits but it didn’t happen and that’s the way darts goes.

“It wasn’t quite the same as my semi-final performance but fair play to Scott for beating me at the end of the day.”
