Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams is safely through to the last 16 of the Grand Slam of Darts.
The Deepings ace pipped Steve Beaton 5-4 to set up a meeting with Belgian star Kim Huybrechts in the first knockout stage on Thursday.
Adams needed to beat Beaton in Wolverhampton on Tuesday night to avoid a clash with tournament favourite Michael Van Gerwen and he edged home after letting a 4-1 lead slip.
Adams topped his group with three wins out of three.
The Grand Slam of Darts brings together the best players from the PDC and the BDO. The semi-finals and final are scheduled for Sunday.
