Kirton’s Ben Wilson came away from Oulton Park with just 10 championship points under his belt after crashing in the sprint race on Sunday and finishing in sixth place once again in the feature race in round three of the British Supersport Championship.
The 33-year-old took his total to 50 which puts him in joint-sixth place in the rider standings.
He said: “I am gutted with my results.
“Sunday was unfortunate. If I could have avoided the crash I would have finished on the podium but it wasn’t to be. Because of the long delay with the lights at the start of the second race I fried my clutch and sixth was the best I could do.”
The championship will resume at Snetterton in Norfolk over the weekend of June 19-21.
Wilson will make his debut at the North West 200 when practice begins on Tuesday ahead of racing on May 14 and 16.
