The May Medal at Spalding was played in good conditions 
with 15 of the 150-plus 
competitors breaking par 
for the round.

Winner was JM West, on countback from Mark Payne, both with superb nett 66.

One shot behind was youngster Hugo Kedzlie with Trevor Horrocks and Keith Hearne a further shot back.

Calum Lewis, James Crampton and Tommy Langford were next with nett 69.

Meanwhile, Spalding’s 
first team remain winless in the South Lincs Scratch League with a 5-1 defeat at Sleaford – only skipper Andy Grimwood and Kedzlie 
winning for the visitors.

However the second team, skippered on the day by 
Tigger Johnson, fared better with a 3½-2½ win.

Winning pairs for Spalding 
were Mark Payne & Harry Hunt, Lawrie Haley & Tom Ladbrook, Dave Perrott & 
Simon Rothwell with Matt 
Richardson & Nick Holmes halving their match.

Andy Rafferty’s third team beat Stoke Rochford 4-2.

Winning pairs were Andy Elms & Trev Horrocks, Del Murphy & Robin Exley, Mick Bell & Neil Smith and Kev 
Siddle & Simon Rothwell.

That was followed up with a 4-2 loss away to Boston.

Club captain Dave Tasker enjoyed mixed fortunes with a 4½-1½ loss at King’s Lynn 
followed by a 6-4 win at home.

Maurice Crunkhorn & Ann Tasker, Steve Watson & Carole 
Holland, Rod Filby & Chris Vickers and Roy Blake & Sybil Thorpe.
