TABLE TENNIS: League still in urgent need of new members

Have your say

THE Spalding and District Table Tennis League has been running its summer practice and experience nights since the season ended – but is still in serious need of new faces.

While at least 14 people have attended the Castle Sports Complex session every week, this is unfortunately short of the break even level of 20 needed.

That number has only been reached once in six weeks.

The good news, however, is that there have been two or three non league players most Wednesdays, and it is to be hoped that one or two may join the league when next season comes.

Meanwhile, anyone who would like to give the sport a try will be made most welcome.

Potential new members should not worry about a lack of experience in the sport.

This will not count against them as the league has players of all levels and are happy to support and coach those who are beginners.

• The date of the AGM and trophy presentations has not yet been set, but is likely to be either August 3 or 31.

Unfortunately both dates, as well as those in between, cause problems for members of the committee who need to report back on last season and plan for the future.
