EIGHT members of South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club were in action at the 2012 Midland BAGCATs championships at Coventry.

In session one, Harry Bumfrey finished seventh overall in the heats for the boys 14 year 200m backstroke.

This put him into the finals, where he managed to come eighth overall.

The second session saw Tom Mitchell and Bumfrey up against each other in the boys 14 year 400m freestyle.

Bumfrey was up first in heat four and got a time of 4.40.28mins. Next up was Mitchell, who clocked 4.37.99mins in heat six to just beat his team-mate’s time.

Meanwhile, Emily McCann competed in seven events in this her first 50m pool competition.

Coached and supported by Callum Lawson throughout the whole two weekends, she swam with determination and was proud of her overall placing of 20th at the end of some very competitive races.

Also representing the Spalding club were Eleanor Templer, William Swain, Ryan Horrocks, Matthew Gray and Calvin Wilson.
