SOUTH Lincs Competitive Swimming Club starlet Sophie Taylor added two more medals to her growing collection at the Disability Short Course Open National Championships.
Held towards the end of 2011 at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, the 15-year-old member of the Spalding-based club bagged two bronzes at a tough competition.
This marked a fine showing for Taylor, who was up against Paralympians in an already tricky open age group.
However, she stayed focused and was delighted to come third in the 100m front crawl and backstroke.
Taylor also just missed out on another bronze in the 50m front crawl, as she was edged out by just a few tenths of a second.
It was an action packed weekend for the teenager, who had at least one race in each of the sessions over the two-day event – not that it bothered her.
Taylor said: “I enjoyed the atmosphere and the challenge of swimming in this type of competition.”
The talented youngster is now working hard to achieve some Paralympic trial times at her forthcoming competitions.
