Saracen’s Head rider Ben Stafford will once again compete in the Pirelli National 600 Superstock Championship which runs alongside the BSB rounds in the UK across 12 rounds.
He will continue his ride with the Silicone Engineering team aboard a Kawasaki ZX6R.
As part of the day job Stafford and another mechanic prepare all of the team bikes for the other riders who compete in the Road Races (IOM TT and North West ETC).
Stafford joined the 2014 series halfway through the season and used the available rounds left to learn this new discipline and by the end of the year the results were apparent.
With the winter behind him and training hard to get leaner and fitter, the team set off for winter testing in the circuit of Cartagena in Spain in March.
After five days improvements were made and at the end of the session Stafford was happy with the bike.
Last week saw the official BSB test session for all the riders at Donington Park.
Waking up to very cold conditions and sleet in the morning, things were going to be difficult but after the wet settings were installed Stafford went out for session one to gain the valuable track time needed.
As the weather improved slightly during the day the times followed the trend and at the close of the day lap times were reasonable in the conditions.
Stafford’s first appearance will be at round one at Donington Park over the Easter weekend. Testing will be Saturday, qualifying and race one is on Sunday and race two will be on Monday.
