SPEEDWAY ace Simon Lambert has agreed to join National League team Stoke Potters for the 2011 season.

Lambert, who was number one for King’s Lynn’s National League team last year, failed to agree terms with his parent club and has now taken the top position for the Potters.

The move sees the Gosberton Risegate rider link up with Malcolm Vasey, a man he knows well from his time with the Boston Barracudas. Lambert has also signed terms with Sheffield Tigers to race in the Premier League.

He said: “This is a new challenge for me. But Malcolm has known me since I was ten years old when I was team mascot for Boston, then I got into the team at number seven when I was 15 and worked my way up to number one and captain.

“I think a move away from King’s Lynn to a smaller size track will help develop my speedway career. I’m nearly ready for the new season, which starts in six weeks.”
