Stuart Cunnington grabbed a second-half double as Spalding came from behind to defeat Ipswich and East Suffolk in the East Men’s League Division One.

High-flying Spalding were 1-0 down at the break but stepped up a gear to fire home three unanswered goals.

Cunnington began the comeback when stretching to deflect home skipper Josh Rowbottom’s cross.

Spalding’s leading scorer then doubled his tally following a short corner to put his side ahead and man-of-the-match Jack Drury made the game safe after a fine break from Rowbottom.

The visitors did pull one back but Spalding held on for victory.

Spalding 2nd lost 7-2 at Wisbech 2nd in Division Three North West, with Glenn Perkins and James Doolan netting for the visitors.

Spalding 3rd were convincing 5-1 victors when hosting Bourne Deeping 3rd in Division Four North West.

Darren Groby and Tom Shinkins gave Spalding a 2-0 half-time lead but the visitors pulled one back just two minutes into the second half.

Joe Rogers, Steve Rogers and Peter Gray scored to give Spalding a comfortable win.

Andy Stone gave Spalding 4th a 1-0 win at Skegness in Division Five North West, while Jack Martin’s hat-trick earned Spalding 5th a 3-2 victory at Long Sutton 4th in the bottom-of-the-table clash in Division Six North West (North).

Spalding hammered Wisbech 2nd 9-0 in the East Women’s League Division Two North West.

Spalding were in front after two minutes when leading scorer Kelly Tuplin got the first of her treble.

Kelly Slater also grabbed a hat-trick with the others coming from Jacqui Hunter, Hermione Wright and Katie Gray.

In the East Women’s League Division Three North West, Spalding 2nd lost 3-0 at Lincoln 2nd while Spalding 3rd were beaten 2-0 at home by Spilsby.
