Kirton racer Aaron Clarke overcame a lowly grid position and an arm injury to finish a solid 26th on his debut in the National Superstock 600 Championship at Brands Hatch.
Starting from the 12th row of the grid in 36th place he got away to a good start but a red flag halted the race due to a multiple bike crash on the first lap.
With the re-run reduced from 22 to 14 laps, he made his way through to 25th place but dropped one position on the final lap.
He said: “I am a bit disappointed but at least I finished the race which has given me the confidence to build on the result next time out.
“It was always going to be a difficult year for me to move up from club racing to the ultra-competitive Superstock 600 class and it’s going to be a huge learning curve.
