JASON Bates scored a sensational 91 break to guide his Bourne Snooker Centre A side through to the next round of the Spalding and District League’s Norey Cup – and keep them on course for a hat-trick.

The cue ace also reeled off a cool 38 as the Bourne outfit cruised past Services A, with Jason Needham and Frank Leigh also victorious.

Having won the scratch competition in each of the past two seasons, they are hoping to become the first side since Services B (1997-1999) to secure the trophy three years on the spin.

Also progressing from the Preliminary Round were Long Sutton A, who dispatched Crowland 4-2.

Adam Barwell clinched the victory after seeing team-mates Matt Smith and Mick Cooper held to draws by Rob Childs and Jamie Hunns respectively.

BSC are another team through to the next stage. Steve Holstead and Chris Dunmore were their winners in a 4-3 success over Pyramid A.

Meanwhile, a 45 break from Donington C’s Neil Reynolds helped secure a 4-2 triumph over Holbeach B. Both he and Ben Wrigglesworth were winners for the Dons, while Neil Harvey grabbed a consolation frame for Holbeach.
