Sir John Gleed School’s gymnasts are crowned county champions

Nineteen members of the Sir John Gleed School gymnastics team set off for their competition at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre.

The under-19 mixed team of Megan Maddison, Cora Lee Johnson, Molly Howitt and Ivan Freitas put in a wonderful performance and won gold, making them county champions.

Individual medals: Level 1 – Molly Howitt 1st, Cora Lee Johnson 2nd. Level 2 Boys – Ivan Freitas 1st.

The under-13 A (Bailey Harker, Ryan Dacre, Nikola Lipinska, Tish Bycraft and Courtney Walker) and B (Kinzi Stokes, Britney Mair, Mia Hallam, Georgia Dunk Neale and Keon Smith) mixed teams placed first and second.

Individual medals: Level 1 – Bailey Harker 1st, Keon Smith 2nd. Level 2 – Kinzi Stokes 2nd.

The under-16 mixed team (Izabela Szymak, Sammie Warren, Anete Murniece and Samantha Stevens) are also county champions.

Individual: Level 2 – Modestas Kandalovas 2nd.

Miss Ringrose, the new head coach for the gymnastic teams, said: “Sir John Gleed gymnasts have made me incredibly proud.

“We have a lovely team atmosphere and the team’s dedication to training and support of each other is fantastic.

“The results were even more remarkable as it was the first competition for 15 of the competitors.

“The team is also very lucky to have such committed parents who I am so very grateful of for their continued support.”
