Spalding stock car drivers travel to King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena for Saturday’s action (6pm) which features the penultimate round of the end-of-season Shoot Out.

BriSCA Formula One racer Mark Sargent is not among the 12 drivers who have qualified to contest the race for the coveted silver roof but, as a past race winner at the track, could act as a spoiler.

Lee Fairhurst (Bolton) currently leads the standings with world champion Rob Speak (Manchester) and crowd favourite Stuart Smith Jr (Rochdale) also firmly in contention.

The BriSCA Formula Two Stock Cars are also in action with three titles on the line.

In their final outing of the season at the west Norfolk venue, the track championship will be decided.

Spalding’s Carl Issitt maintains a slender hope of taking the crown but from fifth in the standings he requires a near-perfect meeting and for those ahead to suffer misfortune.

More realistically, Issitt will aim to challenge for the Grand National Championship where he looks set to start from around the fifth row of the grid.

Barry Clow, James Waterfall, Justin Parker and Steve Wycherley complete the Spalding contingent. The latter pair will be among the favourites for victory in the White & Yellow Grade Series Final that opens proceedings.

Saturday’s meeting also features Ministox while racing continues on Sunday (1pm) with a five formula special.

This features the Lady Bangers’ biggest race of the season, their Gold Roof Championship, plus 1500cc National Bangers in which Spalding’s Michael Derry and Long Sutton racer Tommy Crawford will be in action.

The 1300cc Stock Cars (featuring Spalding’s Richard Smith), Junior Bangers and V8 Stock Cars complete the programme.
