Players from the Drayman’s Arms enjoyed a Hart-Marler Spalding Sunday Pool League finals night to remember as they took two of the three trophies on offer.
Their stand-out success was a 5-4 Knockout Cup win over Gosberton side Bell. On the brink of defeat at 4-2 down after the singles, Drayman’s hauled themselves back to 4-4 with two doubles wins to force a play-off.
Ken Maggs then held his nerve to see off Adam Mayer in the winner takes all frame to complete the comeback.
Drayman’s duo Jonathan Barnett and Nigel Skelly then delivered the Doubles crown with a 2-0 success over Fenway pairing Chris Page and Lawrence Price.
Fenway ace Page did go home with a trophy, though. He defeated Fisherman’s Arms potter Mark Pallet 2-1 to tie up the Singles title.
Also on the night, league champions Holbeach USC A collected their trophy, having edged out runners-up Fisherman’s Arms.
