RELENTLESS Woadman’s Arms added three more trophies to their coffers on the finals night of the Holbeach and District Pool League to secure a quadruple.
The Division One champions wrapped up a league and cup double by defeating Hat and Feathers 5-1 in the KO Challenge Cup final, while they also landed the Doubles KO crown and saw Shane Balding lift the Singles KO gong.
Five Bells A also got in on the act as they stunned second tier rivals New Inn (Holbeach St Marks) 5-2 in the final of the Secondary Cup.
Undoubtedly the main event of the night was the Challenge Cup final – but Woadman’s were in no mood to make the clash any kind of contest.
The champions had the game wrapped up before the doubles to secure an early victory, despite a win by Phil Turner and a terrific attempt by Feathers’ skipper Ashley Godfrey.
He pushed cue ace Balding all the way in a desperate attempt to keep the game alive in the fifth game, but the Woadman’s ace had just too much in his locker.
Balding wasn’t done there, as he dispatched team-mate Shaun Summers 3-0 in the final of the Singles.
However, Summers did get his hands on the Doubles title, as he and Alan Mason cruised past Hat and Feathers pairing Turner and Godfrey 3-0.
Having won 22 of their 24 league games and lifted every single trophy they went in for, it was another remarkable campaign for the perennial contenders.
Meanwhile, Five Bells took command of their Secondary Cup final and raced into a 4-2 lead ahead of the doubles.
Captain Dave Gammon and Adrian Bishop then delivered the final blow to secure the crown.
Also collecting silverware at the Jolly Crispin event were Divsion Two champions Lamb and Flag C and Division Three winners Chequers A.
