Kirton racer Ben Wilson came away from Brands Hatch with one championship point under his belt.
Competing in the fifth round of the MCE British Superbike championship at the Kent circuit, he gradually increased his speed through free practice and qualifying to start the first race from a ninth row grid position.
He powered the Gearlink Kawasaki to 17th place – just outside the points – in the first race.
Wilson completed the second race in 15th place to pick up one championship point.
He said: “That second race was so frustrating. It was red flagged twice and then the weather played its part in the final run.”
The next round is at Thruxton on August 3 when Wilson will be hoping for a chance to add to his points tally.
