AARON Williamson kept his Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup title dream alive after a strong showing at Rockingham.
The 19-year-old from Holbeach Drove placed fourth and fifth in his two outings – with just two rounds of the championship left to contest.
Rockingham is the only circuit on the TOCA calendar that runs anti clockwise – and is not one favoured by Williamson.
He said: “I’ve never been a strong competitor at Rockingham so this weekend was all about trying to stay focused and pick up good points.
“We managed to achieve that so I’m really pleased with the results.”
After struggling with his set-up, Williamson qualified sixth for the opener before taking a fine fifth.
He continued the trend in the finale, moving up a place to fourth in a race that included a mandatory wheel change pit stop for all racers. He stays third in the drivers standings.
