IT was a rough and tumble Bank Holiday weekend for the Rudd clan – with dad Mark and two sons all suffering crashes.
All three were battered and bruised but wasted no time getting back on their bikes to carry on racing in a productive meet.
Mark had a spill in the adult class of a motocross event at Great Hockham on Monday but it didn’t put him off grabbing two 1st places and a 2nd to come first overall.
In the Big Wheel 85 class, Ryan (15) got the hole shot in his second race, eventually finishing 7th. He grabbed a 6th place and another 7th in his other two runs.
Ashley (12) was 6th overall in the Small Wheel 85 category thanks to a superb 4th plus 8th (following a crash while in 3rd position) and 9th place finishes.
Younger sibling Kieran (6) is coming on nicely in his first year of auto racing and can look back with satisfaction on coming 6th overall.
On Sunday in a Supermoto meeting at Blyton in North Lincolnshire, Ryan had a nasty crash in qualifying but steered his CRF250 to 3rd overall.
Meanwhile, Ashley streaked to three straight 2nd places on his CRF150.
l As the season begins to draw to a close, the Rudd boys head to Chatteris on Sunday for a motocross meeting.
