SOUTH Holland’s finest Stock Car and Banger racers are heading to the Norfolk Arena for a massive weekend of action.
Saturday (6pm) sees a dream treble for Stock Car fans, with racing from the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars in a World Qualifier, while both the 2L and 1300 saloons will be contesting the Clive Grief Memorial.
The following day (Sunday) will see the third attempt to run the Unlimited Banger Icebreaker, with the previous two attempts being thwarted due to the heavy snow and big freeze.
Although the turnout has slightly dropped, there are still well over 130 Unlimited Bangers booked in to race – making the King’s Lynn event one of the biggest Unlimited Banger meetings in Europe.
Local aces Carl Issitt, Steve Wycherley, Mark Sargeant, Barry Clow and Craig Tomblin are all set to appear on Saturday night, while there is a similarly impressive line-up in the 2L Stock Cars with Jamie Clayton, Steve Newman, Simon Venni, Andi Newman and Robert Heanes all in action.
Completing the line up are the 1300 Stock Cars, where star man Tom Yould will be keen to make a good start to the season after being voted the most improved driver of 2011 in a nationwide poll.
He will be joined by his brother Ben Yould, British Champion Dan Booth, Stuart Parnell and Dean Bristow.
All of the local drivers who were supposed to be in action in the previous two attempts at the Icebreaker are rebooked for action again.
Once again, Simon Goodale, Will Longford and Paul Vines will be racing for Bad News, while Nick Houghton, Grant McGill, Tony Lowther and Jamie Clayton will be in action for the Mill Green Mafia.
