Two more podiums for Spalding businessman Andy Molsom made it 11 out of 12 races this year.

Rounds 11 and 12 of the Caterham Graduates Championship saw a visit to the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire.

Qualifying went well for Molsom with two third-place starts.

In the first race, Molsom’s championship rival Toby Briant had gear selection problems on lap two which dropped him down the order.

This left Ed Benson and Molsom to fight it out for the lead. Despite numerous changes, Benson won by 0.6 second.

The second race saw Benson, Briant and Molsom three abreast around the first corner, followed by a three-way battle for the entire race.

Despite all drivers taking the lead, again Benson was victorious and Molsom finished third.

“Oulton Park is a fantastic little park circuit, it was only my second visit and it took a few laps to get to grips with the fast corners on testing but I seemed to have sorted it for the races,” said Molsom.

“It was a good solid weekend – to be fighting for the lead after a difficult testing day was great.

“The racing is getting very close with the three clear contenders for the championship. To be in contention, I have to concentrate on wins for the final four races of the year.”

Molsom is level at the top with Briant ahead of the next meeting at Anglesey.
