One of Ben Wilson’s favourite hunting grounds plays host to round three of the British Supersport Championship this weekend.
Gearlink Kawasaki rider Wilson travels to Oulton Park in Cheshire for the annual May Day event, where he will contest two races.
Last season he notched up a brace of second places at Oulton – but this time he will be seeking to make it up onto the top step of the podium each time in order to edge closer to the series lead.
Kirton race ace Wilson currently holds fourth place in the rider standings, but is only one point away from the top three and 12 away from the top of the table.
The series is hotly disputed this year and with any one of ten riders capable of snatching victory, he’ll need to be on top form in order to produce another stellar showing on the undulating circuit he loves so much.
The two free practice sessions take place on Saturday, with qualifying set for 12.55pm on Sunday.
With no track action until noon, the 12-lap sprint race is not due on track until the later time of 5pm on Sunday followed on Monday by the 16-lap feature race at 3.15pm.
See next week’s Spalding Guardian for a report and reaction from the race.
