SPALDING Indoor Bowls Club’s Annalisa Bellamy and Rebecca Allen were part of the successful England ladies’ side who won the British Isles International series.
Held in Swansea, Bellamy was selected as lead for skip Ellen Falkner, C Galletty and K Jones, while Allen was reserve.
In their first match England defeated Wales by 131-109 shots, Bellamy’s rink winning 26-15.
On the second day, Bellamy excelled with a 25-13 win in a massive 56 shot success over Ireland, to set up a last day clash with Scotland.
The match was a close affair, with one England rink picking up nine shots in the last two ends to sneak a one shot win.
Bellamy’s rink lost by a narrow margin (19-13) which was enough to clinch the title.
• Despite struggling to field a side, Spalding’s mixed team narrowly lost their latest county league fixture against a strong Lincoln side.
They continued their fine run of form, with Ruby Hill, Rhys Hill, Ida Andrew and Andy Dawson impressing with a good win.
However, Spalding just fell short, losing by 106-96 shots (12-6 points).
