Oliver Maddison returned home with two silver medals after representing England in the WFMC World Amateur Kickboxing Championships in Germany.

The 11-year-old from Holbeach competed in continuous fighting and points fighting (under 45 kg up to 12 years).

Mum Emma said: “We are so proud of Oliver and the work he has put into training for this event.

“Oliver has been training for six years and qualified in February.

“We would like to say a big thank you to Richard Wallace, Team GB coach and owner of Pride UK Boston, for his help and dedication to his club.

“All four fighters who were competing from Pride UK brought home medals, the other fighters competing and representing England also won medals so it was a successful weekend all round for all that were involved.

“This has been an amazing experience for Oliver and without the help and support of local companies, friends and family this may not have been achievable.

“So we would like to say a massive thank you to SHDC Nick Worth, Francis Biggadike and Tracey Carter, Ashley King Developements, Bingham & Woods IFA, Simon Barker Plumbing & Heating, Chandlers (FE) Ltd, Lynas Vokes Investment Service, Maynard Golden Accountants Ltd, Spalding Lions, N Parrish Vehicle Maintenance, Well Groomed Barbering, Howdens joinery, Good Earth Chinese, Travel Lincs Executive Hire, Mr & Mrs D King, Freya Trotman Natural Health Clinic.
