Long Sutton have reached the last 16 of the National Men’s Seconds Plate with an emphatic 8-1 win over Lincoln Roses.
Taking the game to Roses from the start, Sutton were soon in the lead from a fantastic Josh Fyson finish, before Adam Wiles, Ben Shore and Nick Bailey all got in on the act to make it 4-0 to the hosts at the half time interval.
Defenders Simon Clarke, Michael Donaghy and keeper James Cliff snuffed out mosts Lincoln attacks, while the midfield trio of Jeremy Watt, Fyson and man-of-the-match Charles Hardy totally controlled the game.
The goals continued to flow after the break too, with both Bailey and Fyson completing their hat-tricks, before the hard-working Roses team scored a late consolation goal.
The next round is played in early 2014.
