Holbeach and Fenland Gymnastics Club enjoyed huge success at the Friendly Sports Acro and Tumble competition in Leicester.
Sisters Katherine and Gabby Pearl won gold medals at Prep Level C and D respectively. In the National 1 6/7 years category, Maddie Yellop achieved a gold medal and Lucia Kato finished in silver medal position. It was their first outing at this level.
In National 1 9/10 years Kayleigh Britton took top spot just ahead of Lydia Burton.
At 11-13 years, Amy Reynolds won the gold medal, closely followed by teammate Ellie Burton in silver medal position. And Jade Mace – competing for the first time – took the bronze medal in the 14+ category.
In the National 2 11/12 years group, Caitlyn Beattie finished in the bronze medal position with Georgie Royal taking gold in the 14+ category.
Emily Cooper, tumbling at National 2 16+ earned the silver medal with Laura Nicholson just missing out on a medal in 4th.
One of the final tumblers of the day, Laura Buddle, competing in the Elite 2 section, took the gold medal.
The acro squad also competed various pairs and trios through the day and achieved some very credible scores. Laura Buddle, Laura Nicholson, Jessica Cowling, Georgie Royal, Ellie Burton, Emily Cooper, Jade Mace, Kayleigh Britton, Caitlyn Beattie, Gabriella Pearl, Katherine Pearl and Amy Reynolds went on to take the silver medal in the acro display group competition at the end of the day.
The following day the level 5 women’s artistic team of Laura Buddle, Gemma Clarke, Holly Mears, Alice Banks and Nicole Hayes did extremely well to finish 8th out of 16 teams competing, with 66 gymnasts in all.
Club coaches are really happy that the team are going from strength to strength recently with Holly Mears finishing with a beam score in 3rd place overall, Gemma Clarke finishing 6th on beam and Laura Buddle overall 6th on floor and vault.
Nicole Hayes and Alice Banks both put in fine performances to give the team a good overall finishing score.
