TALENTED members of Spalding Gymnastic Club did themselves proud at a recent county floor and vault competition.
The squad of girls achieved a number of high finishes across a range of age groups.
In the eight years’ age group, Ruby Vertuccio was seventh and Alice Bailey tenth, while Evie Freeman finished (5th) in the nine years’ group that also saw Alice Baxter and Abbie Stubbs do well in their county competition debut.
Great success came in the 11 years’ section as Jennifer Platt took a gold en route to finishing third overall – which secured here a place on the Lincs team for the inter-county championships.
In the same group, Sian Matson just missed out on a medal as she finished fourth, while Dulcie Baker (8th) and Olivia Thompson (9th) placed well. Christine Mumby, Erin Halgarth and Anina Benedetti also competed well.
Sophie Whittington took fifth in the 12 years’ category, backed up well by Molly Hodgson in seventh.
Spalding fared well in the 13 years’ group, with Elexia Coote (5th), Kate Amess (6th) and Elinor Hughes (8th) leading the way. Colby Riley, Simran Bhondi and Tyler-Mae Harker also performed.
Sophie Crowson landed bronze in the 14 years’ competition, ahead of Emma Gregory (6th). Leanne Moore was seventh a level up.
