Gymnasts from Sir John Gleed School are toasting a surprise success after winning the East Midlands Floor and Vault competition.
The Spalding school entered a mixed under-19 team for the first time in their history – and walked away as regional champions against some tough opposition.
The talented team have qualified for the nationals, to be held at Stoke on Trent in May, as a result.
Gleed pupils also enjoyed some individual glory, with Emma Goodliff leading the way with a gold medal.
Modestas Kandalovas (silver) Emma Gregory (bronze) also picked up medals.
Christine Ringrose, who coaches the gymnasts, said: “It was a fantastic day for the gymnasts and Sir John Gleed, these gymnasts are a credit to themselves and our school.
“I would like to thank Alec and Carole Harding of Spalding Gymnastic Academy for the use of their vault.
“A big thank you also to the parents for their continued support – without which we wouldn’t be able to achieve such wonderful results”.
