GYMNASTICS: Boys bring back collection of medals

Spalding boys’ squad were back in action in the County Championships at Lincoln.

Once again they had a brilliant day, coming away with a host of medals in different age groups and levels.

In the under-10 age group Elliott Brooks, Marco Vertuccio, Luke Jakins and Lewis Burton won numerous medals with Brooks being the overall champion.

The under-12 group was also successful as Jorge Bradford, Josh Pearson, Max Coupland and Alfie Rosam-Lee won medals. Bradford was the overall champion.

The under-16 section produced three golds, three silvers and the overall champion.

Vertuccio was the floor champion, Jakins won the rings competition, Bradford was the vault champion and Daniel Martin claimed the pommel bars and high bar.

The afternoon session was the junior level and once again Spalding boys won medals.

The under-12s had Tom Martin, Taylor Binns and Lucas Webb all enjoying success against opposition from Lincoln and Witham Hill.

The under-16s saw Zac Chapman, Martin and Ollie-Joe Rushton fighting it out for medals with Martin coming out top and winning the overall and vault champion.

Spalding Academy will be holding an Easter camp for beginners (9am to noon) on April 4, 11 and 13 and advanced (1-4pm) on April 4, 5, 11, 12 and 13.
