GYMNASTICS: Alec’s work recognised

Have your say

Spalding Gymnastic Club stalwart Alec Harding was a runner-up in the Lifetime Achievement Award category at the Lincolnshire Sports Awards.

Alec, from Fleet Hargate, was recognised for 30 years of dedication to the club. As head coach, he has overseen the club growing from 25 members to more than 400.

Perhaps his finest hour came in 2009, when Alec led the transformation of a disused warehouse at Cradge Bank into a gymnastics centre, which is now used by Lincolnshire and other counties to host competitions throughout the year.
