FORMER Tydd St Giles Golf Club junior captain Jordan Hart has become the youngest ever player to qualify as a level one PGA Coach.

Hart, who was 16 in September, also has the safeguarding and protecting children certificate and now hopes to progress on to level two.

The George Farmer Technology and Language College plays off a handicap of six.

He is also a Junior member at Woodhall Spa Golf Club and has just been asked to play for the men’s A Team.

• SPALDING Golf Club’s ladies booked their place in the second round of the Mail on Sunday competition with a win over Kirton Holme.

In the first game Angela Roper, giving six shots, won 4&2, while Paula Brown, also giving 6 shots, won 6&4.

Avril Norton also won by a 4&2 margin despite giving one shot, while in the fifth game Elizabeth Holbrook recorded a 7&6 victory.

The fourth match on the course saw skipper Lesley Plumpton win on the 18th hole to tie her match.

Both Plumpton and Holbrook were up against opponents with the same handicap as themselves.

The draw for the second round will be made early this month.
