The Spalding High School Riding team travelled to Norton Heath in Essex and achieved fantastic success in the National Showjumping Qualifiers.

The 80/85cm team of Lucy Daly (Francis), Holly Hetherington (Penelope) and Molly Johnson (Casino) were second in a huge class with the top two qualifying for the championships at Addington Manor in October.

The team narrowly missed out in the 90/95cm class but came a respectable third and fourth with Zoe Smith placed individually fourth and fifth.

However, in the 1.00/105m class the senior team of Christina Faulkner (Gypsy Rose), Holly Hetherington (Funfair), Zoe Smith (O Lord) and Alida Tysterman (Sequence) stormed to victory with three fast clears to win the class outright with Hetherington (on a borrowed pony from Smith) qualifying and achieving second, Faulkner third and Smith sixth.

The team are now looking forward to holding their own National JWS qualifier on July 7 at Sissons Equestrian Centre and would welcome sponsorship.
