An afternoon of festive fun featuring stock car and banger racing takes place at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena on Bank Holiday Monday (1pm).

The popular Micro Bangers top the bill with a 120-car entry for their annual three-a-side team championship, with support coming from two classes of stock cars.

Spalding’s Ricky Ivatt lines up for one of the crack Team Bash entries in the Micro Bangers while Nathan Lake (Long Sutton) is a member of the nationally-renowned Predators team who will be out to uphold local honour.

James Parnell, Stephen Murphy (both Holbeach) and Lee Still (Long Sutton) form an all-South Holland entry under the banner of Team Parnell.

Holbeach’s Matt Black – more usually seen behind the microphone at the track – will also be in action.

The hard-hitting Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars include Robert Heanes (Holbeach) and Andi Newman (Gosberton).

This out-of-season event offers the chance for new drivers to try out the formula, with several stepping up from 1300cc Stock Cars and Bangers among the entry.

They include former 1300cc Stock Car Gold Roof champion Richard Smith (Spalding) who is making a return to the big rear-wheel drive cars after a one-off outing a few years ago.

There will also be a special ladies race, featuring the regular racers’ wives, girlfriends and sisters, plus drivers with experience in Lady Bangers and Ministox graduates, all out to have fun in the big rear-wheel drive machinery.

The 1300cc Stock Cars complete the bill with a first appearance on the cards for Sutton Bridge racer Richard Bagley.

The formula’s packed grids will serve up plenty of bumper-bashing entertainment to blow away the winter cobwebs.
