Saracen’s Head youngster Ben Stafford celebrated his first-ever BSB podium place on the top step.
Last weekend the Silicone Engineering team travelled to the north-eastern area of the Netherlands to Assen to round 10 of the BSB series.
This was Stafford’s first trip to the circuit to compete in the Dutch Stock 600 series as the Pirelli Stock 600 series do not use this event.
At the end of the qualifying sessions he was second on the grid in the Dutch series and 17th in the supersport class.
Stafford produced one of his good starts and made his way through the field to finish a creditable 10th on track and the first EVO bike.
Later in the day for the Dutch race, Stafford led to the finish line – five seconds in front of the next rider and again taking top step on the podium.
In the second supersport race Stafford made a mistake to go down and out.
Dad Andy said: “Since Ben has raced I have only not been there with him twice in all of his career and this weekend was one of them due to work commitments.
“So I am absolutely gutted not to see him take the top step in this series not once but twice in a weekend.
“Ben never ceases to impress me with his commitment and ability to turn up at a track he has never ridden and add to his already impressive tally of achievements.”
Round 11 is at Silverstone on October 2-4.
